The Delicate Art of Death gets a second edition

Terrestrial by Ryan McGinnis

Stacy Martinez is back with The Delicate Art of Death, now in a special second edition. But why did I do a second edition of The Delicate Art of Death, and why now?

The simple answer is Amazon.  As most of you probably aren’t aware, Amazon constantly raises the production cost for these books, which can really squeeze an indie author. So, the time had finally come when I couldn’t absorb the increases anymore and had to finally raise some prices. The Delicate Art of Death has always been a really cheap book, because it was by far the shortest. So, I didn’t feel like I could, in good conscience, raise the price of it without giving the readers some value, or bang for their buck, if you will.

So, that’s why the second edition has been re-edited, reformatted, given a new trim size, and now includes the bonus story, “The Musician’s Daughter”, a Xavier Greene thriller short story that had previously only been available to readers of my newsletter.

This second edition is gorgeous too. It makes me want to redo all the Xavier Greene books, even as I’m busy writing the next one. Vellum has made a huge difference in book formatting. I started using it with Terrestrial, and now, given time, I’m going to reformat them all. I just need way more time. But don’t take my word for it; click the Read Sample link below and see for yourself.

It’s been fun to step back into the world of Stacy Martinez and Xavier Greene. It was kind of a good refresher before I wrote the next, long-awaited adventure, but that’s a story for another time…
